Hannah Berner apologizes to Megan Thee Stallion after getting backlashed for informing the artist that she listens to her music in order to “fight someone” before she is ready.
“Conducting an interview with Megan Thee Stallion was my dream,” Berner posted to her Instagram Story on Thursday. “I adore her music and it’s wonderful to listen to when I need a confidence boost before a performance.
“Reflecting on the interview, I wish I had employed any other term other than ‘fight’ to explain how her songs affect me,” she further said. “It was a thoughtless use of words. Although there was no bad intention, I see and understand that what I expressed has a greater significance and I am so sorry to Megan.”

Conclusion Of The Statement
The 33-year-old comedian ended her statement by thanking “everyone who brought this to [her] attention.”
Berner was embroiled in controversy this week after her interview with the “Body” singer, 30, during the Vanity Fair Oscar party Sunday went viral.
On the red carpet interview, Berner and her “Giggly Squad” co-host Paige DeSorbo started gushing over Megan for her “confidence” when Berner steered the conversation elsewhere.
“Your music literally made me, like, when I’m about to fight somebody. I listen to your music,” Berner explained.
The Grammy winner appeared to attempt to steer the conversation in a different direction. Here how she responded. “You want to throw that fighting s–t out the window. You want to get cute and be a bad bitch.”
But Berner did not appear to completely understand her subject shift and responded. “When people are talkin’ s–t, I go, ‘Turn on Megan Thee Stallion!'”
The “Summer House” cast member promptly began taking flak over the interview –– with some labeling her “microaggressive” and others commenting on Megan’s history of domestic violence.
The “Savage” artist was formerly shot in the foot by Tory Lanez back in 2020. Tory then got sent off to jail for 10 years.
Users overwhelmed Berner’s most recent TikTok content and Instagram uploads with pleas to explain and apologize.
How Fans Reacted
Why would Megan Thee Stallion music make you wanna fight somebody? She dont rap about fighting,” one individual questioned.
“Girl u seriously owe Meg an apology the stereotyping was seriously wrong. Megan herself doesn’t even create fighting music,” another individual said.
“the microaggression was LOUD,” someone posted.
