Meghan Markle Responds with a Clever Handwritten Note to Podcaster Who Claimed to Be ‘Scared’ for Her’

Meghan Markle recently demonstrated her trademark mix of wit and poise by directly responding to podcaster Amanda Hirsch. Hirsch, host of her own popular podcast “Not Skinny but Not Fat,” had been on Meghan’s Instagram post about the trailer for the show, saying, “You guys I’m scared for Meghan.”

In a sweet and playful move. Meghan wrote a note by hand to Hirsch. She said: “Dear Amanda, I heard you were feeling afraid. Don’t be! This is the fun part—let’s have fun.” She posted it on her Instagram with the caption, “OH MY DUTCHESS,” and praising Meghan for her kind reaction. 

Meghan’s love of handwritten letters

Meghan’s love of handwritten letters is no secret. In her old lifestyle blog, The Tig, she highlighted the importance of such personal touches. Stating, “I think handwritten notes are a lost art form. When I booked my first [TV] pilot, my dad wrote me a letter that I still have. The idea of someone taking the time to put pen to paper is really special.

With Love, Meghan has received favorable press since its debut on March 4, earning rankings in Netflix’s worldwide Top 10 Shows Overview list. And the top 10 on the platform for both the U.K. and the U.S. Moreover, the show explores Meghan’s hobbies, such as cooking, crafting, and hosting, and gives viewers a personal insight into her life. Also, Meghan explained that it was a “love letter” to all she’s loved to do and had been inspired by a comment a friend made when visiting the set. 

The show’s popularity has prompted an announcement of a second season. Which was already shot and is scheduled to air this fall. Meghan spoke highly of the experience, saying the show is all about “doing what you can do and doing it with love.” 

Meghan’s reflective interaction with Hirsch serves to illustrate her sincere rapport with her readers. Further it emphasizes her dedication to honesty and personal touch, both in her interactions and in her creative work.
